Brandon Wilson won Super High Roller Bowl XI, beating Nick Petrangelo heads-up to collect $1,125,000. The 28-entry tournament awarded $2.8 million across five paid places.
Petrangelo finished second for $700,000, while overnight chip leader Alex Foxen took third for $450,000. The victory gave Wilson his sixth PGT title.
Wilson turns the final table around
Wilson entered the final day fourth in chips, with Foxen leading the five remaining players. A double-up against Foxen changed the standings: Wilson’s ace-king beat pocket tens after an ace arrived on the flop.
Adrian Mateos was eliminated in fifth place for $215,000. Jeremy Ausmus followed in fourth for $310,000 after losing to Petrangelo.
Wilson then ended Foxen’s run when his pocket eights beat pocket sevens. That knockout put Wilson ahead going into the heads-up match.
A river straight decides the title
The final hand brought Wilson a straight on the river. Petrangelo moved all-in on a bluff, and Wilson called to secure the title and the tournament’s largest payout.
